Sneaker Lit with Dr. Jemayne Lavar King

Join VTDITC: Hip Hop Studies at Virginia Tech for Vol. 41: Sneaker Lit with guest scholar Dr. Jemayne Lavar King (Virginia State University). Dr. King is the founding Director of the Institute of Hip Hop and Cultural Studies and an Associate Professor of English at VSU as well as a legendary sneakerhead. If you are interested in kicks, design, fashion, or culture, don’t sleep! Dr. King will explain how sneakers are, in fact, literature as well as cultural symbols. Dr. King will also exhibit a few select pieces from his impressive collection.
